Through the course of our lives, we are met with such things that change our course.  Forks in the road, tragedy, comedy, love, betrayal, and so on. Each direction has its own detour, different from the original path set forth by ourselves. Some call it fate, others call it divine intervention; personally I believe that everything happens for a purpose and reason.

One of the many questions people ask is that wondering where to go from the place they are, to the place they are destined for.

When there is pain, striking individuals; it is supposed to bring forth promise in those who have had tragedy.

Have you ever had something that you were looking forward to so much, you could hardly wait? Wither it be Senior Prom, a first date, college graduation, proposal day, a new house, or simply the big game.  Whatever it might be, there has been times where great excitement overtakes our being.

If you actually have had this in life, then you are fully human, unlike that of Spock who sheds no emotion. But when one is sideswiped with a situation, how are they to proceed in everyday routine?

Men are from Mars, women from Venus; a popular quote describing the sexes. In which displaying that men are less emotional, less caring, less aware of ones surroundings, and frankly rather domineering and dogmatic.

If that were entirely true, every boy and man would be having those actions, thoughts and beliefs. Speaking openly, I know several men that are totally not that way in the least. Not excluding the thought that many traits may transfer over. Why not pair some off here: Sensitive and controlling; good-hearted and a crier; perceptive and knowledgeable; considerate and well dressed. Why are men so stereotyped within a culture that has become in such a strong way feminist?

When a man meets a women, certain bolts with the mind of a man, tend to be lost for a time. Regaining those same scruples are up to the man to find, thus leading a man on a detour from his other detour. If a man does not find the pieces that have been lost; it could cost him his career, his family, and overall his life.

Responding to different situations in sometimes contrasting glances; from male to female,  can be a stepping stone to lead a man to be misdirected, unfocused, and mishandle his choices.

In a Rocky Balboa movie he tells a character that it does not matter how hard you have been hit, but how hard you have been hit and still walking forward. How many times have you been hit on the side approach, behind or really just on the surprise? Common happening, but what is your outcome?

The realistic question these days is: Are we truly ready for a u-turn or a detour in your life? Are you looking forward to it? Just around the corner lays new adventures, new experiences, new people to meet, new failures, and new victories. Will it be the wide yellow brick road, or the skinny one?
